Background

About the ship

The second series of "four-stack" ships differed little from their predecessors—ships of the Guépard class. The last two destroyers had engines with increased steam parameters. During World War II, Aigle participated in the transportation of gold to the U.S., escorted troop ships from North Africa, and took part in the raid on Genoa.
