Frequently asked questions about guides, codes, and bonuses
Answers about guides, codes, and recruitment.
When is the Public Test server available?
Only during announced phases for an update. Check the official session article: the client may be installed while the server is still closed.
Do Public Test ships and resources transfer to my live account?
No. Starting resources and PT progression remain on the test server. Only missions explicitly described as granting live-server rewards are credited to the main account.
What is the difference between a guide and a tip?
A guide develops a mechanic, progression route, or ship. A tip suggests an action or setting to test.
Are guides updated?
Each guide shows a review date and game version. Sensitive guides such as ship builds, economy, and rewards are reviewed after meaningful updates.
Why are codes marked ‘Test first’?
Codes can expire or change region. The website shows their source, date added, and status.
In which order should I test codes?
Start with the newest codes matching your region, then work downward. Several-month-old codes have a high expiry risk.
Should I play before checking a returning-player offer?
No. Open the regional recruitment link and sign in first. Playing too early can remove the eligibility you are trying to check.
Does an EU code work on NA or ASIA?
Not necessarily. Regions use separate portals and campaigns. Always filter for the account server.
Should I sell older ships?
Not automatically. Tier V+ ships can produce seasonal event rewards, and buying them back later costs time and Credits.
What does the Recruiter earn?
The program may grant Points, containers, and some Doubloon cashback under its rules. The player's price does not increase.
Is this an official website?
No. WoWS Guides is a community website independent of Wargaming.
